The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for the first stage, i.e., Tier 1, of the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2023 on April 1, 2023. This exam is conducted by the SSC to select eligible candidates for recruitment to various posts in ministries, departments, and organizations of the central government. Every year, thousands of vacancies for Group B posts are released in these departments and organizations, including EDI, NIA, CBI, Intelligence Bureau, Narcotics Bureau, CAG, CBDET, etc.

Minimum age required for this recruitment is 18 years, while the maximum age limit is 27 years. However, there are certain age relaxations applicable for candidates belonging to different categories. For candidates belonging to OBC category, the maximum age limit is 30 years, while for candidates belonging to SC/ST category, the maximum age limit is 32 years.
Salary:
This recruitment offers posts at various pay levels such as Level 8, Level 7, Level 6, Level 5, and Level 4. The salary for these five pay level posts varies. The pay scale for the posts falling under Level 8 ranges from Rs. 47,600 to Rs. 1,51,100. For Level 7 posts, the salary ranges from Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400. Similarly, for Level 6 posts, the salary ranges from Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400. For Level 5 posts, the salary ranges from Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300, and for Level 4 posts, the salary ranges from Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100.
Application Fee:
The application fee for candidates belonging to General/EWS and OBC categories is Rs. 100. However, there is no application fee for female candidates, as well as candidates belonging to SC/ST and PWD categories.
